Graff City (who distribute Kobra in the UK) sent us some of the new low pressure range which is available at an introductory price for a limited time. You can read what I thought of it after the jump…
It has launched with 60 colours, and I’m assuming it will eventually be increased to match the high pressure range. With names like beer, ham, gangster, kalashnikov and er…dildo they are certainly memorable but the names aren’tnecessarily representative of the actual colours…
…and here’s what the good people at Graff City sent us. The ones at the back are transparent black and white. As you can see from the test below the colour indicators painted on the tins are pretty close, but that green was a bit of an odd one as it looks pretty bright on the tin but came out closer to a peppermint / pastel green…
I’ve used the standard Kobra range in the past and have found it to cover well and cope in the cold, so I was expecting much the same from the low pressure. As you can see in the photo, the colours are nice and punchy but I’d say the light grey and light yellow shades were a tiny bit thin and with the addition of a lower than normal pressure they were comparatively trickier to get a really controllable thin line with….still totally fine to use, but you do have to have a degree of can control to get the same results as you would with the other shades. Not sure how well the photo shows it, but with the cap that came with the tins it is relatively easy to get a line around a centimetre in width!
